Naughton is BSCA Coach of the Quarter

July 02, 2024

The first winner of the revised CoQ award for the period April-June 2024 inc is Tom Naughton, Head Coach at Pershore Swimming Club in Worcestershire. Tom became involved like so many, as a parent helping out & giving of his time, before becoming more involved & attaining appropriate certification & attending workshops & clinics by more experienced coaches including the late Gerry Thain.

Tom has to work within limited resources but his attention to detail, his willingness to learn from others & expose himself & his swimmers to new ideas, saw him produce multiple County & Regional Champions. This ethos has also produced national medallists at English & British Summer Championships, most recently with David Annis who moved on last year and is currently in Vilnius with the GB Team at the European Junior Championships.

Tom is being recognised because his programme has once again produced top performers at 2024 Counties and West Midlands Regionals, he also has swimmers being invited to Summer Nationals. On top of this he is a lovely and roundly liked by all and throroughly deserving of this recognition – Congratulations Tom, well done!
