Ex-Oxford Coaches need your help

April 07, 2021

Dear Coaches

As you may have seen on our Facebook page, on 5th March 2021, 5 swim coaches at the City of Oxford SC were suspended after raising a formal grievance on matters pertaining to their mental health & personal well-being. This led to them then facing disciplinary hearings, adding to their distress. After an SGM called to resolve the issues, but which only served to reinforce the concerns – the five coaches, Amanda Booth, Mikey Hire, Matt Croyle, Fabian Whitbread & Zichen Liu made the brave decision to resign from their posts on Monday 5th April 2021 en masse, to relieve their distress. They are now looking to set up alternative projects which best uses their undoubted swim coaching skills.

The BSCA stands fully behind their decision to leave and in light of that we have set up a CrowdFunding page to assist them temporarily whilst they progress these initiatives – making a stand for Coach Led swimming programmes.

If you feel you would like to help support your fellow coaches in their endeavours please make a donation using the Crowdfunding link.

Please read this PDF for more information.
