Cross Atlantic Partnership Arrangement Agreed for Swim Coach Bodies

August 31, 2022

The British Swimming Coaches Association (BSCA), the only independent body representing swim coaches in the UK, is pleased to announce a partnership agreement with the globally respected American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA). The Agreement will give members of both bodies free access to respective libraries of knowledge & information, where they make use of the reduced memberships on offer.

The BSCA & ASCA will also launch an Annual International Clinic in the UK in June 2023 which will become part of a range of events & services to be developed going forward.

More will be announced in due course, but will see the BSCA build upon the world leading representation it offers to both voluntary and professional coaches in this country.

BSCA Acting Chair Nathan Hilton states, “This is an extremely exciting partnership which will see our 50 year old independent Association, work in partnership with such a renowned body as ASCA. It offers BSCA members the opportunity to access a vast library of international knowledge relevant to their needs as coaches operating in Clubs in the UK.”

He goes on, “As a body run by coaches to support coaches independently, we have the freedom to give members the support they need in their clubs & programmes; this partnership only enhances that support and we look forward to a long a healthy relationship with our colleagues in ASCA and elsewhere.”

In response ASCA stated, “On behalf of all ASCA coaches, we are thrilled to be collaborating with the BSCA. This relationship will greatly enhance professional growth opportunities for swimming coaches in the US and UK,” said Jennifer LaMont, ASCA Chief Executive Officer.  “Coaches learn best from other coaches, so providing this access to shared knowledge and resources across the pond, is a win-win for coaches and the sport.”

The agreement comes into effect as of 1st September 2022.

BSCA members wishing to access ASCA information should follow the instructions forwarded to them directly from the BSCA.
