BSCA Coach of the Year 2025
Lisa Bates
Chelsea & Westminster SC
Congratulations to Lisa Bates who is awarded the BSCA Coach of the Year Award 2025. Lisa was coach to the top individual performance by a GB swimmer at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, doing this in a Club programme in central London.
Lisa is an experienced programme leader with exposure on GB International Teams, most recently at the Paris Olympic Games 2024 & World Champs in Singapore this year. She has coached a variety of International medalists and has a proven track record with the development of Age Group swimmers to senior level (Siobhan Marie O’Connor, Aimee Willmott, Sophie Taylor).
Lisa held a variety of high profile coaching jobs before joining CWSC, including Performance Programme Head Coach at the London Aquatic Centre, Director of Swimming at Middlesbrough ASC and University of Bath Head Age Group/Youth Coach.
Throughout this time Lisa has been a consistent part of the Team GB coaching set up & this award, going to someone in a club environment, is recognition that what you do is more important than where you do it.
Well done Lisa another stalwart of women coaching in GB!

BSCA Para Coach of the Year 2025
Patrick Miley

Congratulations to Patrick Miley who wins the BSCA Para Coach of the Year Award 2025.
This award is in recognition of the outstanding performances of Faye Rogers who set multiple World, European & British records this year as well as winning 4 medals (1 Gold, 5 Silver) at World Para Champs in Singapore.

Dr Mike Peyrebrune

Dr. Mike Peyrebrune is well known across the globe for his work as a sports scientist, yet at heart he remains a practicing coach, dedicated to bringing his research into practical use in the field. He is a BSCA Board member and a member of long standing, supporting many initiatives that the Association has developed in recent years.
The BSCA is honoured to award and recognize him in this way.

Dave McNulty has been a stalwart of British Swimming Coaching for many decades. He has nurtured & developed the talents of swimmers to achieve success at Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth levels and been true to his fundamental principles throughout.
The BSCA Board had no hesitation in recognising this living legend!

BSCA Coaching Award of Excellence 2025
Ryan Livingstone

Ryan is recognised for the part he played as coach to members of the GB Team who retained the World Championship Men’s 4×200 free at the World Championships.
Dave McNulty

Dave is awarded for the part he played as coach to members of the GB Team who retained the World Championship Men’s 4×200 free at the World Championships.
Laura Bowie
Aberdeen Dolphins SC
In recognition of Laura’s excellent work with Dean Fearn who is the 50m Butterfly World Junior Champion, touching home in 23.54 for the event.
Keiron Piper
Millfield School
For recognition of Filip’s time of 2:07.32 for the 200 Breast which would have won the Senior World Championship title and was the 3rd fastest senior time in the world for the 2024/25 season. Good job Keiron!
Nathan Jegou
Tigers of Jersey SC
In recognition of the work Nathan has done in developing Filip Nowacki in Jersey, and recommending him to join a programme where he could develop to become the swimmer he has this year, as stated above at both Junior & Senior levels.

BSCA Para Youth Coach of the Year 2025
Nick Thompson

Nick is recognised for his work with William Ellard (S14 classification) who had a highly successful campaign at the Singapore 2025 World Para Swimming Championships. His achievements included:
• Gold medal and a new world record in the Men’s S14 200m Freestyle.
• Gold medals in the Mixed S14 4x100m Freestyle and Medley relays.
• Individual gold in the Men’s S14 100m Butterfly.
• Bronze medal in the Men’s S14 100m Backstroke.

BSCA Youth Coach of the Year 2025
Keiron Piper
Millfield School
Keiron is recognised for the breakthrough performances of Filip Nowacki this summer. Whilst representing Great Britain, he won gold medals in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke at the 2025 World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Otopeni, Romania, setting multiple records in the process, after doing likewise at the European Jnr Champs.
