Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships

The Speedo BSCA Coach of the Day Winners returned at the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships held from July 19-25, 2025, at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.

25/07/25 - Doug Campbell
Doug Campbell is Coach of the Day on the final day of the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships for the great swim by Skye Carter in 17/ 18 100 fly recording 59.98 despite having a very challenging and difficult training environment at present. Well done Doug! Doug received his award from Swim England’s Mike Parker.

24/07/25 - Patrick Miley
Patrick Miley (University of Aberdeen Swim Team) is our Day 6 Coach of the Day for Faye Rodgers performance on Female MC 100m Butterfly. Breaking the European Record for the S10 category. Faye has already broken the World Record 200 fly earlier in the week! Congratulations to Patrick!

23/07/25 - Karen Bradbury
The winner of Coach of the Day for Day 5 is Karen Bradbury, Head Coach to RTW Monson. This award is in recognition of a great day’s work with 3x Golds won – Girls 14-16yrs 4×200 Free Relay Team, of which Amalie Smith was a part and who went on to win the 16 years 200 free title, as well as Julia Elvidge winning the 200 Backcrawl. Well done Karen!

22/07/25 - Paul Wilcock
Coach of the Day for Day 4 goes to Paul Wilcock for the performance of Samuel Sutcliffe. Paul is the part time lead of a cooperative of coaches at Ramsbottom Swim Club, who have limited resources such as 12 hours pool time in a small community pool but constantly produce top quality swimmers and in this case an Aquatics GB Next Gen champion who recorded 50.4 in the 16 years 100m freestyle final.

21/07/25 - Tom Croke
Tom Croke wins in recognition of the outstanding performance of Theodora Taylor in the Women’s 200 IM (16 years). Theodora has had a wonderful season representing GB at the European u23 & European Junior Championships in Samorin, winning medals & titles at those events, but she entered this meet with an entry time of 2:18.28 from the GB Champs in April, then swam 2:15.82 in the heats yesterday before recording a 2:13.88 in the final, when winning the event in the fastest time of any age group.

20/07/25 - Ric Howard
Ric Howard Coach to Bolton Metro wins COTD for Day 2 following Leo Talbot winning Gold in 15 years 200 free followed by Georgina Sheffield winning MC Gold in the same event in a Para World Champs qualifying time; this after she missed the Paris Paralympic qualifying standard by 6/100ths last year. Tremendous achievement to help her overcome such disappointment and progress again this year. Bolton Metro is a small programme where both Para and Pathway athletes thrive & succeed under Ric’s guidance.

19/07/25 - Darren Ashley
Darren Ashley, Head Coach of the City of Liverpool Club, wins COTD for Day 1 as his swimmers win 3 of the 5 male 1500 free gold medals on offer.
