Coach of the Day

BSCA Coach of the Day is back for the 2026 Aquatics GB Next Gen Swimming Championships. 

The Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships are heading to Ponds Forge from 16 to 22 Jul 2026 – with the talent of tomorrow celebrated in this key end-of-season meet.

The BSCA Coach of the Day Award is a daily recognition of outstanding coaching at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships. Coaches are nominated each day via the BSCA Website and announced the following morning before heats start & after warm up.

22/07/26 - Andy Wallace

Congratulations to Andy Wallace (Loughborough University), who has been selected as BSCA Coach of the Day on the final day of the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships. Andy receives the recognition following Scarlett Humphrey’s superb European Record-breaking performance in the S11 100m Butterfly.

21/07/26 - Julian Harforth

Julian Harforth of Harrogate & District SC, wins BSCA Coach of the Day on Day 6 of the Aquatics GB Next Gen Swimming Championships for outstanding team performances & by far the most nominations on the night.

20/07/26 - Kim Mortimer

Kim Mortimer of Stratford Sharks is our Coach of the Day on Day 5. Kim receives the award for the performance of Harry Connor winning the 13/14 years 200m Breaststroke. The panel recognised this as an exceptional achievement from a small club programme, with Harry’s performance moving him to 16th on the all-time rankings for his age group. 

19/07/26 - Lee Holland

Lee Holland of the Isle of Man Swimming Association, wins BSCA Coach of the Day on Day 4. Awarded for the performances of Oscar Maddrell with victories in the 1500, 800 and 400 free in his age group. Lee coaches on a small island with limited resources and has overcome significant challenges to produce such results.

18/07/26 - Craig Prime

BSCA Coach of the Day for day 3 of the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships 2026 is Craig Prime, on behalf of all the team Staff at Repton Swimming. This team take a collaborative approach to their work and this award reflects this as the swimmers produced 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 5 Bronze medals in the one finals session.

17/07/26 - Matt Naunton

Our winner today is Matt Naunton of Brighton & Hove SC for the following stats in one final’s session: 5 medals, 4 swimmers, 3 age groups, four different events – outstanding work. Great job Matt!

16/07/26 - Jamie Fowler

Jamie Fowler of the City of Leeds SC is Coach of the Day for Day 1 of the AquaticsGB Next Gen Championships 2026 for the performances of William Wilson (16yrs) & Emily England Hall (13/14yrs) winning gold in the 1500 Freestyle.

About Coach of the Day

The BSCA Coach of the Day Award is a daily recognition of outstanding coaching at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships. Coaches are nominated each day & the winners are announced the day after their nominated performance and their names and details are displayed in the event hall, published on the BSCA website and social media.

Nominations are open each day of the competition until the final day, during respective Finals sessions.
