The BSCA are pleased to announce that nominations for our 2022/23 Coaching Awards are sought after another successful season as COVID heads off into the background.
The new BSCA Board are requesting nominations for the following Awards against the stated criteria:
Award | Criteria |
BSCA Coach of the Year | Coach working in GB, with the swimmer considered to have had the highest world performance between 01/09/22 & 31/08/23. Board will consider Medals at Major Games & Championships, as well as World Rankings & relevant performance points. Must be a full BSCA Member |
BSCA Para Coach of the Year | Coach working in GB, with the Para swimmer considered to have had the highest world performance between 01/09/22 & 31/08/23. Board will consider Medals at Major Games & Championships, as well as World Rankings & relevant performance points. Must be a full BSCA Member |
BSCA Coaching Award(s) of Excellence(inc. Able bodied & Para Coaches) | Coach(s) to the swimmer(s) considered to have had an outstanding world performance between 01/09/22 & 31/8/23. Board will consider Medals at relevant Major Games & Championships, as well as World Rankings & relevant performance points. Must be a full BSCA Member |
BSCA Youth Coach of the Year | Coach to the Youth, Junior or Age Group swimmer (as defined by respective body) considered to have had the highest relevant performance between 01/09/22 & 31/8/23. Board will consider Medals at major relevant Games & Championships, as well as relevant World Rankings & relevant performance points. Must be a full BSCA Member |
BSCA Para Youth Coach of the Year | Coach to the Youth, Junior or Age Group swimmer (as defined by respective body) considered to have had the highest relevant performance between 01/09/22 & 31/8/23. Board will consider Medals at major relevant Games & Championships, as well as relevant World Rankings & relevant performance points. Must be a full BSCA Member |
BSCA Club Coach of the Year | A Coach operating in a Club environment, who the Board consider has carried out an outstanding job within the limitations that they have to work within. This can be performance, development or team growth related and we encourage you to be expansive in your descriptions. |
BSCA Lifetime Achievement Award | Coach who has positively committed their life to the pursuit or profession of swimming coaching in Great Britain. |
BSCA Life membership | Coach recognised by the BSCA for their dedication and efforts, above & beyond the call of duty to the Association. Must be a full BSCA Member |
BSCA Fellowship | Coach recognised by the membership for their support of the Association between 01/09/22 & 31/08/23 Must be a full BSCA Member |
- Nominations are now open & close at noon on Thursday 26th October 2023
- These will be circulated to the Board by the 27th October 2023 for their consideration and deliberation
- The winners will be announced in “BSCA Awards Week” commencing Monday 13th November 2023.
- Each day of that week, different winners of the above Awards will be announced, concluding on Friday 17th November with respective “Coach of the Year” Awards.
