Lead Coach for Nova Centurion B1 national level squad

NOVA Centurion is the competitive arm of the Nottinghamshire County Swim Squad providing support to national and international level athletes aiming to compete at British Championships, but also aiming to qualify for senior international teams (eg at Olympic, World and European Championship level). NOVA is a Swim England Performance Centre and has a history of producing Olympic, Paralympic and European Champions, alongside working with the current prospects for future Olympic success.

We are currently seeking a Lead Coach for our B1 national level squad.

Contract Type: Permanent

Qualifications: Level 2 Swimming Coach Certificate

Working Hours: Part Time (12 hrs/week)

Location: Nottingham (Harvey Hadden and David Ross Sports Complex)

Salary: Dependant on experience & qualifications

Job Description and Duties
• Provide coaching predominantly for the County Swimming Squad’s B1 Squad, enabling the progression of swimmers from development to performance level.
• Plan and support delivery of swimming sessions for B1 Squad swimmers including basic land training sessions.
• Attend relevant meets as detailed in NOVA’s seasonal plan – these will include Level 1 open meets, Regional Championships and National Championships.
• Review the development needs of swimmers and communicate information and resources to encourage our young people to adopt and maintain healthy, active lifestyles.

• Engage in all provided training and team meetings to allow for continuous professional and squad development.
• Regularly liaise with the Director of Coaching to review and develop the talent identification system for swimmers in the county.

• Establish appropriate links and work with swimmers to enhance their performance within our program.
• Ensure relevant coaching qualifications, safeguarding and National Rescue Test for Teachers and Coaches training are maintained.

• Ensure that all necessary administrative tasks (eg session planning, registers, parent and staff emails, meet entries etc.) are completed.
